Betrayal 40

5 player game of me, Mel, Rachel, John, and Josiah. Went through the motions until Josiah became the traitor AGAIN! "Skeletons of small animals litter the floor. As you walk, bones crunch under your feet. If only you didn't have to walk in this horrid, crunchy place. What was that? It feels as though the ground is trembling. No... not trembling... moving. This house is moving?! Can that happen? What was that? It sounded like the rustling of feathers. As you turn, two glittering eyes peer down at you from the rafters and you hear a soft hoot. Something about that Owl reminds you of your best friend. Could it be...? There must be some way to get your friend back. If only you could hear yourself think over the sound of all these crunchy bones underfoot!" So now Josiah is a giant owl trying to crash the house off a cliff and turn us all into owls. It was probably the most convoluted haunt in existence for the traitor. It was very back and forth between us attacking him and him destroying the house and automatically turning us back into owls. Eventually though I beat him and turned him back into a human which was our goal all along. "Phew! Back on solid ground. As you head toward the front door, the bones crunching underfoot sound comforting. Once outside in the cool fall air, you turn to ask your friend what on earth they were thinking, trying to turn you all into owls. "Well," your friend says with a grin, "I just thought it'd be a hoot." You all laugh (or groan) and head out into the night. Behind you, the house slowly begins to walk away." So now we're all human in the most convoluted, broken, bullshit haunt since the poltergeist one. Also this is haunt 93 marked complete with this group for the star haunt. 1/4 done.

This session took place on February, 10th, 2017. Same night as the last session.

Betrayal 39

5 player game of me, Mel, Rachel, John, and Josiah. Went through the motions when Josiah became the traitor in a base game haunt. While exploring the house, we come across an interesting tale. Years ago, the Romanescus, an ancient royal family, made its last stand in this very house. All but one were murdered by their own guards. Studying the family's genealogy, you realize that one of you is the heir to the Romanescu fortune. If the true heir sits on a throne in this house, then the fortune will be restored to the last Romanescu. Looking around in amazement, you realize that one of your friends is missing. You pale as you think back on how that "friend" muttered something about "wrapping up a loose end" in the house. Better find that throne and get the heir on it fast. Josiah has a lot of hidden assassin's that can do 2 dice of physical damage that we can't defend against. But every time they attack they poison themselves, probably with cyanide capsules. They're all like "NO WITNESSES" but are leaving a shit ton of bodies. I pretty much immediately killed Josiah and impaled his ass with a spear of might 8 and did 12 to his 3. 9 damage that killed his ass immediately. Mel was our secret heir who we were trying to get the ring for, but we could never fucking find it. Eventually one of the assassin's did 4 damage to Mel and killed our heir so we lost. "The heir is dead. Your family's stolen wealth is safe. Walking past the crumbled body, you drop a paper crown beside it. As the crown reddens with the heir's blood, you quietly shut the door." Which slight plot hole here since Josiah as Missy is dead. So yeah the stolen wealth is safe but you gotta assume one of the assassin's put the paper crown there instead.

This session took place on February, 10th, 2017.

Betrayal 38

Another 5 player game of Me, Mel, Josiah, John, and Elizabeth. Went through the motions when for the first time in a while Mel became the traitor on an expansion haunt. Apparently she's been possessed by the spirit of an old wild west hangman which meant Mel had to speak with a southern draw for the rest of the game. We all had to guess our own hangman phrases to the theme of "animals". Although she made it super easy with words like "Lion" or "Crow", she underutilized her abilities and lost by singling out Liz in the basement, she couldn't even leave instead of hanging us as we were all hiding on the roof. She managed to kill Liz but the rest of us lived and won.

Betrayal 37

5 player game of me, Mel, Josiah, John, and Elizabeth. Went through the motions when we all became traitors except John which is pretty unique. This was an expansion haunt. Normally it's hero left of the traitor goes first but we decided John should go first so he doesn't immediately get ganked. Apparently we're all poltergeists that John mistook for bored curious citizens exploring the house with him. Our only way to attack is by throwing objects in the room at him by naming the objects. While he was using a piece of paper with the alphabet like a Ouija board and using an item token to guess the letters of the objects. He walked to a room with barely anything in it so he guessed the letters very easily for the few objects because of his high knowledge so he very quickly and easily escaped through the front door and won. As he raced out the front door, his heart pounding as fast as the sound of his feet slapping the sidewalk. He made it out with his mind, body, and spirit intact. As he looked back at the house, he saw that several of the windows are filled with the silhouettes of spectral observers. Yet one window remained vacant, and a warm. Inviting light shines from within, beckoning to potential new residents. This haunt was boring and shit because of the lack of rooms. Probably the worst haunt I've ever played. If we ever play it again then us traitors will go first cause the hero is an overpowered piece of shit. But in Hindsight this haunt ain't bad if we had better sanity stats and a more explored house. We just got fucked is all.

Betrayal 36

Went to the D20 bar with Mel, Josiah and Duncan. And surprisingly ran into Daryl and even more shockingly Levi Witt! For his first game with us 6 playing betrayal with the expansion. We went through the motions as usual when Levi became the traitor. Out of nowhere we hear the creepy sound of a little girls giggle, echoing throughout the halls counting 1, 2, 3, 4. All the way up to 10 in which she then calls out "Olly Olly oxen free! Guess you better find a good hiding spot!" Apparently the traitor has been possessed by a little girl who died in the house while playing hide and seek, and now all she is seeking is revenge. We do not want to be found. Our only way to stop her is to exorcise her spirit from the traitor's body by tossing her doll "friends" in the furnace room. At first we thought we were pretty good as we quickly found a lot of dolls and Levi was slow as shit. Eventually though as we were searching for the furnace, Levi took advantage of my low knowledge and "found" me. I became "it" and was now a traitor bent on finding the others and making them "it". I dropped the doll I was holding. They managed to toss 3 dolls into the furnace before things went bad. I turned Daryl, who then turned Mel, in which both of them turned Duncan, all the while I was chasing Josiah as Missy. Eventually we all surrounded Josiah so he could only move one space per turn and somehow kept holding off all of us with his knowledge and being amazing at hiding apparently. Eventually he did become "It" and Levi won. "I win! I win!" calls the voice, which seems to be coming from every room in the house. Levi momentarily falls out of the girls spell, looking at all of the explorers in the house, their eyes glazed over in a trance. The trance begins to take hold over you again, and as you fall back into the spell, you hear her giggle with glee "and now I have new friends to play with forever...." The end.

This session took place on December, 31st, 2016.

Betrayal 35

6 player game of me, Rachel, Dillon, Josiah, Elizabeth, and Josiah's friend and newcomer Duncan with the expansions. Went through the motions as usual when Liz became the traitor on an expansion haunt. Which she immediately had to read her opening and winning condition thanks to Josiah's event card. Apparently she had been setting up a party for months inviting all her monster friends with the band The Cryptkicker Five, and arranged for the house to be filled with stranded bus passengers for entertainment. She must have picked a bad set of victims, though. They're supposed to be screaming and cowering, not fighting back. While we just kinda realized what was going on by finding an invitation to the party someone dropped. So our goal is to banish 3 monsters by moving into the room they are in with the right omen to banish them. We start with Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, and the mummy and we get super excited as we had all the right omens for them. So we set on missions, Duncan to Dracula, Rachel to the Mummy, and me to Frankenstein. Right off the bat Duncan steaks Dracula through the heart. Rachel then banishes the mummy by reading his name from the book of the dead. I slowly make my way to Frankenstein but he reaches the ballroom before I can get to him, and since we can't enter the room we go "Uh oh". It's at this point we guess that she needs 3 monsters to enter the ballroom to win. Crimson Jack and the Zombie Lord enter the game and we realize we might be fucked. Crimson Jack makes it into the ballroom, but right as the Zombie lord is about to enter, Josiah grabs the spear off Duncan and hands me a chainsaw and we both attack the Zombie Lord. He defeats us both and has the special ability that any heroes he defeats that aren't killed are turned traitors. So now with me and Josiah on the winning team I use the Mystic elevator and hurt Duncan the Professor with my chainsaw while Josiah uses his Angel Feather to hit Dillon with a might 8 attack. So Duncan in an effort to save himself runs to and purposely attacks the Zombie Lord so he'll lose and turn traitor. With Duncan now a traitor the Witch enters the house while the Zombie Lord finally enters the Ballroom. The Witch then attacks Dillon with Liz finishing him off with a bullet to Dillon's little boy head from her revolver. Turns out she needs either us all of us dead or 4 monsters in the ballroom. The Witch enters the Ballroom and team traitor wins. All while Rachel hid in the basement where she'll meet her inevitable demise. And so she reads her win "Now the deed is done, the party has just begun. By far one of the best haunts I've ever played with 4 traitors winning to 2 heroes losing.

Betrayal 34

5 player game with me, Mel, Jeremy, Alexis, and Danny. Went through the motions on the expansion. Eventually Alexis became the traitor on a haunt we're doing for the 4th time right now! She's working with the madman letting in all the specters from the windows. I died quickly from an event. Mel got cornered by several specters but ended up dying from an event before they killed her. Danny and Jeremy managed to exorcism three rooms before the specters swarmed Jeremy and killed him. For revenge Danny as Missy shot Alexis in the face with the revolver he got off my corpse. At this point Danny is hoarding a ridiculous amount of omens and items. Danny ended up getting swarmed by 4 specters yet somehow managed to stun 3 of them and get away. The madman finally freed all the specters and began making a b-line to Danny. Danny managed to exorcise one more room before the madman killed him. After Alexis cleaned the blood off her face and got the screams out of her ears did she finally realize what the things in the mist wanted. Good thing she let them in. Which I guess she realized in hindsight since she’s now a ghost. We were only one exorcism away from winning. We were fucked because we had none of the omens we needed as they were all at the bottom of the omen deck. GG I guess.
